This series was developed by
Hans Coolsma, in Holland, with the beginning recorder player
in mind. Each has a thumb bushing to prevent wear on the thumbhole.
They are available in two woods: pearwood which is impregnated
with wax, making the wood quite stable and lessening the need
for oiling and maintenance; and bubinga, a hardwood similar to
rosewood, producing a warm, full tone.
These recorders play with the
tone and response of more expensive instruments but at a surprisingly
reasonable price, and carry a two-year warranty.
