The brass alto mouthpiece has a medium low baffle with a round chamber and medium facing. Free blowing with a rich full tonal quality in all ranges of the horn makes this mouthpiece popular for lead alto, straight ahead jazz, but also blends nicely in section work. The only difference in these mouthpieces is the tip opening which is reflected in the number.
- 5* (tip opening - .070) Light and clear sound which is perfect for the combo player or section work. Easy to control with great response.
- 6* (tip opening - .075) Very bright, rich, sharp sound that cuts through anything. Rich highs and lows and will not shut down. Darker tambour than aluminum.
- 7* (tip opening - .080) Super crisp, sharp sound with great balance and projection. Explosive highs and lows and extremely versatile. Will not be over blown.
- 8* (tip opening - .085)
Rich, bright, big, powerful mouthpiece. Great for players who put a lot of air into the horn. Easy to control.
