The blade at the tip of the tool has a gentle radius that can be used for precision scraping, including balancing the tip, adjusting the heart or other fine adjustments. The radius allows single-point contact for scraping very precise areas of the reed quickly.On each side of the scraper blade, there is a blade designed especially to adjust or modify the rails of the reed. These blades quickly define the desired rail profile.

I purchased the Reed Geek universal reed tool out of curiosity and it has turned out to be the best reed tool I have ever used. It quickly and easily solves the all too common problem of reed warp and poor seal between reed and mouthpiece. The flat and radius scraper edges are great for fine adjustments to the reed tip. By using the Reed Geek, I have been able to salvage many reeds that were basically unplayable. I am able to fine tune my reeds to play just like I want them to. It has proven to be very useful in adjusting reeds for my students as well. I highly recommend the Reed Geek Tool... easy to use, small and convenient, and the best $50.00 I ever spent on reed accessories. It WORKS!
