Based on twenty-plus years of teaching woodwind students, the JCII mouthpieces offer the young musician a mouthpiece that promotes strong embouchure development, characteristic tone quality and superior intonation. Each easy to play JCII mouthpiece is hand crafted from a durable, American made blank and then hand reamed to ensure excellent intonation and sound qulaity.
Durable, American made acrylic blank holds up well against "real" bandroom conditions

The medium close tip (1.06 mm) coupled with a medium long facing (18mm) allows the student to use heavier reeds from the start. This aids in development of embouchure strength, focus of sound and better intonation.
The slight A-frame chamber (sidewalls) make for a more free blowing mouthpiece allowing the resistance to come from the reed, not the mouthpiece. This way, the student can continue using this mouthpiece all the way through high school.
